Detroit Bass Day Returns for 2015
If you hear a rumble coming from the Midwest, don’t worry. It’s just the buildup to Detroit Bass Day on August 8th, 2015. This year’s event will take place at the Detroit Institute of Music Education and promises to be the biggest one yet.

Detroit Bass Day 2015 will be hosted by Lola George with special guest speaker Will Austin, whose resumé includes work with Dizzy Gillespie, the Gene Krupa Orchestra, Yusef Lateef, and more. A special concert will be held to pay tribute to bass legend Louis Johnson, who passed away earlier this year. Other performances will be given by Bob Hurst, Ralphe Armstrong, Kern Brantley, Lawrence Washington, Brad Russell, Reginald Canty, Eddie Kohen, Damond Womack, Adam Brode, Rene Santiago, Emily Rogers, Lone Wolf, Vic Robinson, Takashi Iio, Lonnie Motley, and Sean Eric Harris.
Of course, the day wouldn’t be complete without a group photo of all the participants and attendees. Admission for the day is $25 or $35 for VIP, which includes a tour of the Detroit Institute of Music Education, a VIP-laminated pass, and a Bass Day DVD. More information and tickets are available now from the Detroit Bass Day website.
