Happy Birthday to one of the FUNKIEST thumpers of all time! Louis Johnson was something special. His amazing resume includes recordings with Michael Jackson, Herbie Hancock, Quincy Jones, Patti Austin, and many more. Not to mention his own solid body of work with The Brothers Johnson.
I’m STILL finding new material daily. In this special clip, we hear him thumping and plucking on the the Tranzit tune “Dance” from 1983. His trusty Musicman Sabre also makes an appearance. THAT TONE!!
