G&L Unveils USA JB-5 Bass
G&L has been making made-in-Fullerton jazz basses for about 10 years, but they’ve now expanded the US-made line to include a five-string. The G&L JB-5 adds a low B-string with a fast neck featuring a 1.775″ nut width and slim rear profile.
The bolt-on bass is built with an alder body for standard and solid finishes or a swamp ash body for premier finishes. Its hard rock maple neck is topped with either rosewood or maple for its fingerboard with 20 medium jumbo frets. G&L fits the JB-5 with a pair of their Alnico jazz pickups and a volume/volume/tone control setup.
Other features include custom G&L Ultra-Lite tuners, a saddle lock bridge with chrome-plated brass saddles, and a deluxe tolex hardshell case. The JB-5 is built in G&L’s Fullerton, California factory. It’s shipping now with a MSRP or $2,142.
