Mike Frost Band and FSO: Astral Dance
Mike Frost stepped things up this year with a stellar collaboration with the Florence Symphony Orchestra. The bassist performed his work “Astral Dance” with his band plus the entire orchestra to create a huge and engrossing musical experience.
Starting with the strings, the tune starts almost as a lullaby that Frost puts a melody on. It builds in intensity with a beautiful and blazing bass solo while the orchestra keeps a pad for the band to work with.
In his time with No Treble, Kevin has met hundreds of amazing bassists and interviewed icons like Jack Casady, Victor Wooten, Les Claypool, Marcus Miller, and more. He's a gigging bassist performing jazz in Northern Virginia and bluegrass with The Plate Scrapers up and down the East Coast.
