Jaco Pastorius Play-Along Book Published

Jaco Pastorius revolutionized bass playing over the course of a tragically short life, which has been depicted in the acclaimed documentary, “JACO,” produced by Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo.

Now, some of Jaco’s most famous bass lines (from his solo work, tenure in Weather Report, and on songs by Joni Mitchell and Herbie Hancock) are part of the Hal Leonard Bass Play-Along book series. “Jaco Pastorius: Bass Play-Along Volume 50,” which the music publishing company released in response to requests for more Jaco materials.

The book includes audio tracks to play along with, available for download or streaming, as well as tab and transcriptions based on original recordings. The book also provides access to Hal Leonard’s Playback + player, which lets you slow down audio without changing pitch, change keys, and more.
