Gibson Unveils 2017 EB Bass T Model
Gibson has unveiled their 2017 instrument lineup, including the new Gibson 2017 EB Bass T. The new version revamps the EB Bass design with a new body shape among other features.
As part of the “T” series, the bass is created with tonewoods and pickups chosen for vintage Gibson sounds. The bass is built with a swamp ash body, set maple neck, and a rosewood fingerboard. The biggest change in the new EB is its body shape, which features deeper cutaways for further access to the upper frets.
Its pickups are Gibson EB Rhythm and Lead humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions, respectively, setup with a volume/volume/tone control configuration. Hardware includes a Babicz Full Contact bridge and Grover tuners.
Gibson’s 2017 EB Bass T comes in four or five string versions with either natural satin or satin vintage sunburst finishes. They are shipping October 1st with prices of $999 for the four-string and $1,099 for the five-string.

Nothing EB whatsoever about these basses o.O its a passive musicman… Not that thats a bad Thing, but swamp ash, maple and such are not part of a “vintage Gibson sound”
Those are Thunderbird pickups with open poles so it’ll likely sound like a Thunderbird, pretty classic if you ask me.
seeing a bass like this with “Gibson” written on, feels SO weird… however i can’t wait to try these beauties out n check if they’re worth the money
Make mine with a 2+2 headstock.
