Saltman Knowles Releases First Album in Five Years

Saltman Knowles: AlmostThe story of baseball’s longest game, and the book written about it – Dan Barry’s Bottom of the 33rd, inspired jazz outfit Saltman Knowles’ latest effort, Almost.

The book reflects the players’ commitment and dedication to the game, even if they weren’t destined to make it in the major league (the game was a minor league contest). They continued to put in the effort. The same goes for Saltman Knowles (led by bassist and former No Treble contributor Mark Saltman and pianist William Knowles), which continued to make music after the death of their drummer/mentor Jimmy “Junebug” Jackson and other influential mentors, like Dr. Yusef Lateef.

Almost is the group’s first record since 2011’s Yesterday’s Man and Jackson’s death.

Almost is available on CD and as a digital download (iTunes and Amazon MP3).
