George Porter, Jr. Recording with Snoop Dogg
Legendary bassist George Porter, Jr. has played with a who’s who of the music industry, but that list has just gotten a little bigger. Porter, who championed the groove with The Meters, revealed that he’s been recording with rap icon Snoop Dogg. He shared the news on Facebook with a photo of himself with Snoop.
“Had a blast working with Snoop Dogg in L.A. over the past few days – can’t wait for y’all to hear it,” the bassist wrote.
While we don’t know much about the project, it appears that it also involves soul vocalist William Bell and North Mississippi Allstars drummer Cody Dickinson.
Whatever it is, we can’t wait to hear it, either.
