Bootsy Collins Cancels Tour Dates

Bootsy Collins

Funk bass legend Bootsy Collins has canceled all of his current tour dates after being diagnosed with a tumor behind his ear. The bassist will undergo surgery very soon with the doctor recommending canceling his performances.

Collins announced the news on his Facebook page with a positive attitude. “Yep Funkateers! I found out last week that I had to get surgery to remove the tumor in my ear,” he wrote. “But all things happen for a reason no matter what it looks like to us. The good news is that I am ready for Heads or Tails. The One prepared me this way. I am not concerned because… the “One” will do the rest. I AM IN GOOD HANDS! Bootsy baby!!!”

The Rubber Band leader also said he is in talks with fellow legend Larry Graham to fill in the tour dates that he will miss. We’ll keep you updated as we find out more.

We’re wishing a speedy recovery to Bootsy!
