Video Premiere: Petros Klampanis’s “Shades of Magenta”
Today we’re proud to premiere a video for the song “Shades of Magenta” by bassist Petros Klampanis. This beautiful piece of music is a live recording from his latest album, Chroma, out now on Motema Music.
“‘Shades of Magenta’ is about happiness,” the bassist writes. “We tend to forget how to appreciate small everyday things and this state of mind only leads to stress and disappointment. I wrote ‘Shades of Magenta’ as a reminder, that life is beautiful and even if things are tough, it’s worth giving everything to make things better. Chroma explores the colors of human character, inspired by world events and personal experience. It’s my third personal album and it was recorded live by my NYC group at the Onassis Foundation Cultural Center.”
Klampanis will be presenting some of Chroma’s music on Saturday, June 24th at 4 pm for the Harlem Arts Festival at Marcus Garvey Park in New York City. He will be joined by guitarist Gilad Hekselman, pianist Julian Shore, and drummer John Hadfield. Get more details here.
