Oteil Burbridge Announces New Album, Tour Dates

Oteil Burbridge has been keeping plenty busy with Dead & Company for the past couple years, but he’s also been working on his own music. Now the groove monster has announced a new solo album and tour.
Water in the Desert will be released on October 20th and is tied together by a central theme. “I started writing the songs on this record about ten years ago,” Burbridge writes on his website. “They are all songs about love in some way; finding out how to love yourself, hoping that another loved one will love you just as you are, believing in someone when they find it hard to believe in themselves, love gone wrong, or finally finding the ‘perfect fit.’ I feel like every problem we have on earth in some way comes back to the lack of love. That’s really what this record is about.”
The album will feature Kofi Burbridge, Dave Yoke, Lil’ John Roberts, Sean O’Rourke, Miguel Atwood Ferguson, Alfreda Gerald, and Mark Rivers. Burbridge will also be heading out on a tour with Oteil & Friends to support the album. His touring band will include Melvin Seals on vocals, Eric Krasno on guitar, John Kadlecik on guitar/vocals, Jay Lane on drums, Weedie Braimah on percussion, and Alfreda Gerald on vocals.
