Xotic Unveils the XJPRO-1 5-String ProVintage Series Bass

Xotic has expanded their bass lineup with the XJPRO-1 5-String ProVintage Series Bass. As part of the ProVintage Series, the new bass combines elements of classic and modern features while building on their previous lineup.

“The ProVintage Series basses, inspired by the Xotic XJ Series, feature a structurally balanced neck for reliable intonation that is coated with a unique oil finish for a comfortable feel,” the company writes. “Additionally, the ProVintage Series utilize the same onboard preamp electronics that are featured in all Xotic Basses for a varied selection of punchy vintage-modern tones. Each Raw Vintage USA JB-5 pickup is meticulously hand wound in our shop and specifically voiced for the ProVintage Series.”

It’s built with a double-cutaway ash body, a 34-inch scale maple neck, and a 22-fret maple fretboard. The XJPRO-1 5-String ProVintage Series Bass is assembled in Indonesia and shipped to Los Angeles, California where they are Plek’d and given a final setup and inspection. It is available now for $1,800.
