Slayer Announces Final World Tour

Slayer

After 35 years of producing some of the most brutal music ever written, Slayer has announced they’ll be making their exit after one more world tour. The legendary thrash band made the announcement with a YouTube video:

While the news was a surprise, it may not be a shock to fans who have been keeping up with the members. Bassist Tom Araya admitted to being ready to call it a day in a 2016 interview with Loudwire. “After 35 years, it’s time to like, collect my pension,” he said. “I’m grateful that we’ve been around for 35 years; that’s a really long time. So, yeah, to me, it is. Because when we started off, everything was great, because you’re young and invincible. And then there came a time where I became a family man, and I had a tough time flying back and forth.”

The outing will be absolutely killer for metalheads, as Slayer has tapped Lamb of God, Anthrax, Behemoth, and Testament to join them for their farewell. For bass fans, that means you’ll see Araya, John Campbell, Frank Bello, Tomasz “Orion” Wróblewski, and Steve Di Giorgio.
