Sanne Verbogt: Microtonal Pop Bass

Last year we featured Sanne Verbogt’s awesome microtonal bass from Roks Instruments. Now she’s released a new video demonstrating it on a pop song.

“In my study to explore the use of microtones in Western music I chose a pop/dance song to make an arrangement for microtonal (quartertone) bass guitar. The song of choice is a personal favourite: Kygo’s remix of Kyla la Grange – Cut Your Teeth,” she writes. “In this rearrangement, microtones are used 40 times, throughout the whole song.”

In his time with No Treble, Kevin has met hundreds of amazing bassists and interviewed icons like Jack Casady, Victor Wooten, Les Claypool, Marcus Miller, and more. He's a gigging bassist performing jazz in Northern Virginia and bluegrass with The Plate Scrapers up and down the East Coast. Kevin appreciates all genres of music, from R&B to metal and everything in between. Connect with Kevin on Facebook and check his performance schedule on his website.
