Alkaloid Returns with “Liquid Anatomy”
Alkaloid has returned with their sophomore album, entitled Liquid Anatomy. The extreme prog metal band features a killer lineup including former Obscura members Hannes Grossmann and Christian Münzner as well as current Obscura bassist Linus Klausenitzer. Former Aborted guitarist Danny Tunker and Dark Fortress vocalist Morean fill things out.
Though he’s known for his killer six-string fretless work, Klausenitzer used a wide palette for the album. “[This album] very special to me in a lot of ways. Not only I play with so many great musicians and composers, I also have never played on an album that is so diverse,” he wrote on Facebook. “The same about the bass sounds: fretless, fretted, with fingers, with pick… I played around a lot with different settings.”
Hear some of that diversity on the track “Azagthoth”:
Liquid Anatomy is available now on CD, vinyl and as a digital download (iTunes and Amazon MP3).
