Joe Policastro Trio: No Idea
Double bassist Joe Policastro has just released a new video for his song, “No Idea,” featuring his awesome trio with Dave Miller on guitar and Mikel Avery on drums. The bass player sets things up with cool, uptempo melody in the upper register with an open string drone underneath before his bandmates join in.
The trio is totally locked in as they drop into a half-time groove in the form. Policastro follows Miller in the solo department with some great thumb position work.
In his time with No Treble, Kevin has met hundreds of amazing bassists and interviewed icons like Jack Casady, Victor Wooten, Les Claypool, Marcus Miller, and more. He's a gigging bassist performing jazz in Northern Virginia and bluegrass with The Plate Scrapers up and down the East Coast.
