Janek Gwizdala Releases “Last Minute World Tour Live”
Last year, Janek Gwizdala did something a little crazy. He took off on a musical trip around the world at the drop of a hat.
“The Last Minute World Tour took place throughout 2017, and included over 30 live concerts,” he explains. “From theatres and concert halls to private houses and intimate clubs, this was one of the most intimate and personal tours of my career. Each night was made possible by all the “Coffee Drinkers” out there, and the support of incredible fans and patrons of the music.”
Luckily, he recorded every performance along the way. Gwizdala cherry-picked the best tracks from the whole tour and put them into a three-part album called Last Minute World Tour Live. Volumes one and two are full tracks from the concerts that range from delicate solo bass pieces to huge looped arrangements with jaw-dropping effects. The final volume collects the more ambient moments from his shows.
You can get an idea of the scope of the album from this preview:
“It’s been quite an emotional few weeks listening to all the material and remembering not just the performances, but all the incredible people I met on the road,” the bassist shared. “The audience members, masterclass attendees, club owners, promoters, gear lenders… the list goes on. My life will be forever different in such a wonderful way from these experiences.”
