Ashdown Engineering Unveils the CL-310-DH Bass Cabinet
Ashdown Engineering introduced an interesting new bass cabinet called the CL-310-DH. Rated at 450 watts at 8 ohms, the cabs were inspired by vintage British PA systems and feature a 3×10″ configuration with dual high-frequency horns. The seed for the new design came from Pink Floyd and session bassist Guy Pratt.
“The guys at Ashdown received a special request from their good friend Guy Pratt to design some custom speaker cabinets to pair with his custom ABM heads. Guy has recently taken on a new role as the bass playing front man for Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets, which features an incredible line-up of musicians including Lee Harris of the Blockheads, Spandau Ballet’s Gary Kemp, and music producer Dom Beken.”
The cab design is rear ported with a six-inch tuned port. It also has a tilt-back design with casters on the rear and a handle for easy transportation. A side recessed leather handle lets you carry it on its side, as well.
The CL-310-DH is finished in a Bronco Tolex with a red custom weave grille and old English style white piping. It debuted at the 2019 Winter NAMM Show and will be available soon with a price point of approximately $775.
