Reader Spotlight: Noemi Sarah Costanzino
Meet Noemi Sarah Costanzino, a bassist and vocalist from Italy who says, “I just want to play and sing my songs and everyone sings them with me!”
Noemi is this week’s No Treble reader in the spotlight. Here’s her story…
Noemi is a European singer, songwriter and bass player. She was born in Palma Di Montechiaro, a small country in Sicily, and began to play bass at 17.
At the age of 21 she began to study at the Conservatory Bellini of Catania and studied “Musical Jazz Languages.” Over the years, Noemi has played with different projects all over Europe from small venues to large European festivals.
Noemi has also studied songwriting, singing, guitar and bass with international jazz musicians like Massimo Morriconi, Mike Stern, Richard Bona.
Currently, Noemi is working with producer Jeff DaBella (Earl Cohen Productions www.earlcohenproductions.com ) on her debut release due out in early spring 2018. Combining jazz, R&B, pop, and soul which gives Noemi’s unique sound all her own.
Why I play the bass:
A friend needed a bass player in his band and he tried to let me start so we started playing together.
I have a Cort Special Edition, a 5-string Yamaha, and a Greg Bennett.
I love many genres of music, including bass players and also singers/bass players like Richard Bona and Esperanza Spalding.
My bass superpower/claim to fame:
I just want to play and sing my songs and everyone sings them with me!
