Bob Dylan’s “Rolling Thunder Revue” Featured in New Documentary, Album Set

Bob Dylan’s Rolling Thunder Revue concert tour was an enormous undertaking that took place between 1975 and 1976 that featured the Bard alongside Joan Baez, Roger McGuinn, Joni Mitchell, Ronee Blakely, and Ramblin’ Jack Elliott. The massive outing is the subject of a new documentary by Martin Scorsese as well as a 14-disc collection called The Rolling Thunder Revue: The 1975 Live Recordings.

All of the performers were backed by the backing musicians that would be featured on Dylan’s Desire sessions. That includes bassist Rob Stoner, who Dylan hired just after The Band had left his employ. Stoner opened up about the tour to Tom Semioli of Know Your Bass Player:
