Tom Ibarra Quartet: Cause We’ve Ended as Lovers
Guitarist Tom Ibarra and his quartet took the stage at Caveau des Oubliettes in 2016 and performed this excellent cover of “Cause We’ve Ended as Lovers,” which was written by Stevie Wonder and recorded by Jeff Beck.
I really dig Romain Labaye’s fretless work on this one. He even quotes Jaco during his solo, which gets a big smile from Ibarra.
By the way, at the time this was recorded, Ibarra was just 16 years old. He’s also performed with Marcus Miller.
