Ampeg Launches Heritage 50th Anniversary SVT

Ampeg Heritage 50th Anniversary SVT Amp

Ampeg is celebrating five decades of the SVT bass amplifier with the Heritage 50th Anniversary SVT, which is launching at the 2019 Summer NAMM Show. The unit combines the SVT’s “most celebrated circuits” with the 1969 “Blue Line” and 1970s Magnavox-era circuits in one amp, and allows for jumping the two channels for a more aggressive all-new sound.

“The Ampeg® SVT® is more than just a bass amp—it sparked a revolution,” Ampeg states. “When it debuted in 1969, deafening walls of full-stack guitar amps were eating bass players alive. Knowing that big bass volume required big power, Ampeg designed the most sophisticated amp of its day: the 300-watt SVT. Finally, balance returned to the stage and with it, a generation of iconic bass-forward music was born. That singular Ampeg spirit of innovation and ingenuity is alive and well in the Ampeg HeritageTM 50th Anniversary SVT bass amp.”

The Heritage 50th Anniversary SVT is handmade in the U.S.A. and utilizes detailed, period-correct graphics and fonts. Aside from the classic circuit designs, it has a few modern features like an enhanced XLR DI output, user biasing, Speakon outputs and spring-loaded side handles. The power amp also uses specially sourced and matched Ampeg Super Valve 6550 tubes.

The Ampeg Heritage 50th Anniversary SVT Head is available for order for $2,699.99.
