D-A-D Returns with “A Prayer for the Loud”

D-A-D: A Prayer for the LoudIf you’ve been looking at bass memes on social media for any length of time, you’ve probably seen the outrageous two-string bass guitars of Stig Pedersen. From a space shuttle to a giant iPhone, his basses always catch serious attention. Now he’s put those two strings to work again on the new album from his band D-A-D, entitled A Prayer for the Loud.

The release comes eight years since the Danish group’s last studio album, but it harks back to their original sound. Pedersen says the tracks are the “cream of the crop” of their recent work.

“In the past we have occasionally gone down new avenues to try out stuff that was pretty far from the heart of what we do. It’s been a lot of fun, but this time we have tried to narrow it down to the essence,” the band explains. “This time around, we are just being who we really are. A Prayer For The Loud is a record where the focus is on melodies and energy. We’ve made a real effort when it comes to writing the choruses and it’s resulted in some great songs where we were meticulous with the details without losing the original rawness and pure energy.”

Check out the band’s video for “Burning Star,” with Pedersen on an oversized acrylic two-stringer.

A Prayer for the Loud is available now on CD, vinyl and as a digital download (iTunes and Amazon MP3).

Why use the cross of Christ for the recording? It is really a horrible picture and promotion. What is your thinking, faith and idea…really sad.
