Bob Dylan Announces North American Tour Dates with Tony Garnier
Iconic songwriter Bob Dylan is into the 30th year of his “Never Ending Tour,” and he’s just added more North American dates to the affair. The Bard will kick things off October 11th in Irvine, California and work his way east well into November. The final date is scheduled for November 21st in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
2019 also marks three decades that Dylan has been joined by bassist Tony Garnier, who is his longest-running sideman. He has been an integral part of Dylan’s sound for so long for a reason. “One of Garnier’s gifts is his ability to interpret a song in a variety of ways,” Ryan Madora explained in a Bass Players To Know column. “With Bob Dylan, an artist notorious for changing arrangements on a whim, Garnier is able to adapt and refine his approach to what we know to be classics. His attention as a listener and player, as well as his encyclopedic knowledge of various styles, makes him the perfect fit for playing with a chameleon of an artist.”
