Steve Di Giorgio and Jeroen Paul Thesseling Announce New Band

Quadvium

Two of the world’s best fretless bassists are teaming up for a new project. Steve Di Giorgio (Testament, Sadus, Death) and Jeroen Paul Thesseling (Salazh Trio, Obscura, Pestilence) have announced Quadvium, a band that will blend their unique extended-range fretless playing into a style they call “world-fusion-metal.”

The band also features drummer Yuma van Eekelen from Our Oceans and Pestilence. Di Giorgio and Thesseling have been planning a collaboration for some time.

“About ten years ago we already had the idea in mind to form a group together. Using two fretless basses in one production is a different concept, we often discussed it in the past,” they write in a press release. “Further completion of the line-up is in progress. Soon we start writing, collecting ideas for a debut and expect to announce a fourth member on short notice.”

While we may have to wait to hear Quadvium, the bassists are keeping busy with their other bands. Testament and Our Oceans each have a new album coming in 2020. We’ll keep you updated with more details as they come.
