The Cro-Mags Release “From the Grave” EP
The Cro-Mags have returned with their second EP of the year. From the Grave is a three-song followup to Don’t Give In, which was the first time in two decades that the group released new music.
The band, led by bassist/vocalist Harley Flanagan, tapped Motörhead guitarist Phil Campbell to play lead and slide guitar on the album’s title track. The collaboration came to him in a dream.
“Lemmy [Kilmister, Motörhead] came to me in a dream and said, ‘Take it back, mate. It’s yours; you started it’ [referring to the band’s name]. I woke up and I knew what had to be done, so I did it,” Flanagan says. “And I figured since Lemmy gave me my marching orders, I should get his guitarist to play on a new track. Phil immediately said yes and that is why it’s called ‘From The Grave’, and I’m so honored to have him on this song.”
