Satyricon’s Anders Odden Diagnosed with Cancer

Anders Odden

Satyricon bassist and Cadaver co-founder Anders Odden has been diagnosed with colon cancer. The heavy metal musician made the news public on his Instagram page.

“I was diagnosed with colon cancer the 3rd of October 2019. Since then I have done chemotherapy to shrink the tumor down so I can undergo surgery,” he wrote. “The doctors have told me that everything will go as planned and that I will get rid of this cancer. It’s a tough journey, but I am ready. Have a happy new year and I will see you when I am through.” His surgery took place January 6th, after which he posted a photo with the caption “The Awakening!”

Odden joined Satyricon in 2009 as a temporary bassist, becoming a fixture by 2013. He performed on the “Live at the Opera” release with the iconic Norwegian black metal band.

We’re wishing a speedy recovery to Anders!
