The PRVLG: Paradise

We already know there’s a special bond between bassists and drummers. Now imagine your drummer was your twin brother.

That’s the case for The PRVLG, a bass and drum duo of Christopher and Christian Underwood. Each of the brothers completely locks into the groove, and they both sing. Their website describes their music as “a blend of Indie pop-esque melodies with some funk, soul, jazz, and r&b make for a Memphis version of Prince.”

Here they are performing their song “Paradise” for Jam In The Van during a stop in Memphis. Christian sets up a killer groove and doesn’t let up for the whole tune.

As one YouTube commenter put it, “This is crack for bass players.”

In his time with No Treble, Kevin has met hundreds of amazing bassists and interviewed icons like Jack Casady, Victor Wooten, Les Claypool, Marcus Miller, and more. He's a gigging bassist performing jazz in Northern Virginia and bluegrass with The Plate Scrapers up and down the East Coast. Kevin appreciates all genres of music, from R&B to metal and everything in between. Connect with Kevin on Facebook and check his performance schedule on his website.

I have a twin brother, he’s certainly not as cool as those two!
