Caparison Guitars Introduces the Brocken 5-BASS
Japan’s Caparison Guitars has announced a new bass model called the Brocken 5-BASS, a five-string and 27 fret instrument they say is the most comprehensive bass they’ve ever developed.
“A perfect balance between functionality and exuberant design, precise engineering and cognitive creativity,” Caparison writes. “The unique and carefully considered quadripartite body construction, featuring a Maple core – flanked by two wings of Australian Black Wood, crowned with a select Black Walnut top, gives a full and well-rounded sonorous quality. The fundamentals are strong and defined and the clear harmonics ring out with a bell-like quality.”
The neck, which is reinforced with titanium support rods, is a five-piece maple and walnut laminate topped with a Kalimantan Ebony fretboard. For electronics, the company loads the Brocken 5 with a pair of Fishman Fluence soapbar set. The pickups offer three voicings as well as a single-coil mode for flexibility. The setup also includes a 2-band EQ and blend pot.
The Caparison Brocken 5-BASS carries a price of $3,499.
