Kenny Rogers with The First Edition: Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In)
We’ve lost another legend, with the passing of Kenny Rogers yesterday.
Rogers had an amazing career, which began in the 1950s. Many people don’t know he was a bass player, but he did hold down the low end (and lead vocals) for The First Edition, from 1967–1976, before his starting his solo career.
Here’s a clip of the band performing “Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In)” from the variety TV show “Rollin’ on the River,” which was hosted by Rogers in the band in the early ’70s.
RIP, Mr. Rogers.
