G&L Unveils 40th-Anniversary SB-1 Bass
G&L is continuing its 40th-anniversary celebrations by introducing a limited edition version of their SB-1 bass. Originally launched in 1982, the company describes the SB-1 as “the magic of Leo [Fender’s] own reinterpretation of a classic design.”
The 40th Anniversary edition features Leo’s MFD split-coil pickup fitted in an okoume body. Its clear ruby red finish is accented with a white pearloid pickguard, and the maple neck can be topped with either maple or Caribbean rosewood fingerboards.
While a video for the 40th-anniversary bass is not available, you can hear the sounds of the SB-1 in this clip featuring Steve Araujo of The Bass Hang:
The G&L Guitars 40th Anniversary SB-1 will be available soon with a price point of $1,799.
