Bass of the Week: Enfield Guitars Belladonna

Enfield Guitars Belladonna Bass

This week we’re checking out a new model by Enfield Guitars called The Belladonna. Clad in all white, the bass has a medium scale, very lightweight, and flexible pickup system.

“With her chambered mahogany body, ash facing and 32” scale length, Belladonna has been designed and built for those players that enjoy super lightweight construction (5.9-6.6 lbs) along with easy access to both the high and low ends of this amazingly fast and responsive instrument,” the company writes.

Enfield fits the bass with a 3-band Glockenklang preamp as well as their Sims Super-Quad pickup system, which they explain is an adaptation of their Super-8. The Super-Quad pickups have four hand-wound coils that can be selected for a total of fifteen unique pickup configurations.

“Connected to our renowned Tri-Logic switching system, get ready for a whole world of tonal capabilities as the Super-Quads are your new all-inclusive tone generators,” they write. “We teamed up with Glockenklang preamps for their glass-like clarity and ease of use and we offer their 3 band active onboard preamps to further enhance the capabilities of the Super-Quad pickups. Other preamps are available by request as a custom option.”

Other features include a five-piece North American quarter sawn hard rock maple neck, a phenolic fingerboard, custom monorail bridge units, and Hipshot tuners. The Belladonna comes in Enfield’s standard colors of London Red, Old White, River Blue, Spitfire Black, Orchard Cherry or Rolling Tobacco, though custom options are available.
