Ashdown Expands ABM EVO IV Amps and Cabs for 2020
Ashdown is expanding its ABM EVO IV line this year with the ABM EVO IV Dual VU Rack Head and the ABM-EVO IV Pro Neo cabinet range. The line is centered around the company’s new Blue Line Pro Neo speakers.
As its name implies, the ABM EVO IV Dual VU Rack Head features two of the company’s signature VU meters (one for input and one for output) in a 600-watt version of the ABM EVO IV head. This carries all the features of the rest of the EVO IV line: 12AX7 preamp tubes, a new 9-band EQ, an overdrive section, the One Knob Dynamic Compressor, the ABM Sub-Harmonic generator, and more.
“Based on what we have learned over the years we decided to take the NEO speaker back to the drawing board, we have designed a number of custom drivers in the past but generally steered clear of using neodymium magnets in favor of our friendly but heavy ferrite magnet, now given the opportunity to go back to the drawing board with our acoustic engineers and testing facilities we have created 3 stunning all-new BLUE LINE PRO NEO speakers a 10, 12 and 15-inch,” Ashdown explains.
The line includes three new cabs, all rated at 300 watts: a 2×10″, a 1×12″, and a 1×15″. Each is also fitted with a three-way variable horn. The ABM- 210H Pro Neo features an all-new poplar ply designed enclosure with an interchangeable cloth grill and sealed design.
The Ashdown Engineering ABM EVO IV Dual VU Rack Head and ABM-EVO IV Pro Neo series were unveiled at Winter NAMM. The amp is available for pre-order at $1,041 while the cab prices are to-be-determined.
