Chris Seldon Guitars Unveils Ranger 4/34 Bass
Chris Seldon Guitars (formerly Owl Bass Guitars) has announced their new flagship model called the Seldon Ranger 4/34. The new instrument features a full 34-inch scale and will be the company’s base model.
“I had this idea before Christmas that I wanted to do a 34-inch scale, bolt-on, ultralight, high-performance type of thing. This is what I’ve come up with,” luthier Chris Seldon explains.
Seldon builds the bass with an alder body and a highly figured birdseye maple neck. “The neck attachment is by way of 6 X 10/32 machine screws matched to brass threaded inserts for an extremely tight and stable neck attachment,” the luthier writes.
Electronics include a Bassculture W Bucker pickup, an Aguilar OBP3 preamp, and a unique coil blend feature that allows you to gradually blend the pickup’s two coils from single to humbucking and everything in between. Other features include Hipshot USA hardware and a Mono gig bag.
The Chris Seldon Guitars Ranger 4/34 is available to order now starting at $2,500. The first basses will be shipping in July.
