Bandcamp has announced another “Bandcamp Day,” a day where they waive the revenue share on their platform and give 100% of the sales to their artists and creators.

Years ago over lunch, Steve Lawson suggested we move Groove to Bandcamp, and it was one of the best decisions we made. Of course, Steve has an impressive catalog of music on Bandcamp, which is worth checking out. Here’s what he had to say about the platform:

Music and merch from independent artists the world over, in glorious HD formats, with the vast majority of the money going to artists. Counter to pretty much every other digital music business model, they don’t make a penny until we make many, many more pennies than they do. There are no fights to pay musicians less, like the Spotify lawsuits, no attempts to take rights away, or keep musicians away from their listeners. It’s the perfect Fairtrade music platform.”
