Ron Carter To Live Stream From The Village Vanguard
Jazz legend Ron Carter has been quarantined in his home just like most of us, but this weekend he will be playing a gig with his Golden Striker Trio. The bassist will be joined by guitarist Russell Malone and pianist Donald Vega for a special live stream from the Village Vanguard on July 24th and 25th. Each set starts at 9 PM Eastern.
“The Vanguard is a special place,” Carter wrote on Facebook. “I’ve recorded 2 really great records there: Bobby Timmons Trio and Joe Henderson’s The State of the Tenor. These are recordings that the Village Vanguard was made for!”
