Steve Bailey Releases Jaw-Dropping Duets Album, “Carolina”

Steve Bailey: CarolinaFretless guru Steve Bailey has returned with a new solo album, or more appropriately, duet album. Carolina is an amazing 17-song collection that showcases the six-string wonder with a wide array of artists. Bailey is joined by vocalist Becca Stevens, Jethro Tull’s Ian Anderson, Lukas Nelson, and more. A particularly special moment is his duet with Willie Nelson on the legend’s own “Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground.”

“Throughout the record, Bailey’s bass is both the glue that binds song, style, and artist and the visionary voice that summons your ear,” the album’s description explains. “Though equally known for his uncanny abilities as a soloist, Steve is an accompanist at heart, and that was his mission herein. These skillful and playfully crafted duets range from dynamic new compositions to original renditions of covers. Bailey has sprinkled surprises and magical gems throughout. ”

The album also has several duets with bassists: Victor Wooten, Ron Carter, Susan Hagen, Anthony Jackson, and Bakithi Kumalo. This is without a doubt one of the must-have bass albums for 2020.

Carolina is avaialble now on CD through VixMerch.com and as a digital download through iTunes and Amazon MP3.
