Eastwood Guitars Announces the MRG Bass
Eastwood Guitars has unveiled the mandolin-inspired MRG Studio Series, which includes the new MRG Bass. The four-string bass features a short 30.5-inch scale and a mandolin-shaped semi-hollow body.
“With the huge success of our 4-string electric bass guitars over the past 15 years, we thought a more affordable studio option would be a welcome addition to the MRG Studio line,” the company writes. “Many have been asking for a more ‘traditional’ body style, so the simple progression was to borrow from our very popular guitar ‘The Cosey,’ which is a 6 string guitar based on a mandolin body.”
Its tone-chambered mahogany body is topped with maple in either a sunburst or walnut finish. Eastwood fits the bass with a pair of mini humbuckers controlled with a three-way toggle. Each pickup has its own volume knob with another knob for the master tone.
The Eastwood Guitars MRG Bass is available now for $549.
