Bass of the Week: Odieng Red Viper 5

Odieng Red Viper 5 Bass

Many entry-level basses are built in factories in Indonesia, but the country also has plenty of highly skilled luthiers. This week we’re checking out the Odieng Red Viper 5 that is absolutely decked out.

The bass is built with an ash body and poplar top in an amazing colorful finish. Its spalted maple fingerboard is inlaid with an equally astonishing design that even glows in the dark.

Odieng fitted this model with a Nordstrand split-coil pickup as well as a Musicman-styled humbucker in the bridge position. Other features include gold hardware, an Aguilar OBP3TK, and 24 frets.
