Peter Rofé: Purple Haze

LA Philharmonic Bassist Peter Rofé is making the most of his downtime. In this new video he shared yesterday, Rofé performs a solo bass/vocal arrangement of Jimi Hendrix’s “Purple Haze”.

“Our LA Phil concerts have been canceled since March,” Rofé shared. “My roots as a bass player go back to playing electric bass in garage bands, so during the pandemic, I’ve revisited the tunes of my youth. I deconstructed some classics, covering both the bass and guitar parts…while attempting to sing as well.”
