Alex Bleeker Releases “Heaven on the Faultline”

Alex Bleeker: Heaven on the FaultlineReal Estate bassist/vocalist Alex Bleeker has released a new album called Heaven on the Faultline, which marks his first full-length solo project in five years. After such difficult times lately, the record was an opportunity for him to rekindle his passion for his art form.

“I wanted to capture the moment in which I fell in love with making music, to begin with,” Bleeker says. “This is music for myself—me getting back to music for music’s sake.”

Heaven on the Faultline blends light and bouncy indie grooves with darker lyrics that face anxiety and tension. “The album is very much about dealing with the anxiety of a sense of impending doom,” the bassist writes. “When is the hammer going to fall? How do we go forward in the face of such anxiety and experience the complexity of life?”

Bleeker delivers bass lines with an old school flair and vintage tone. Check out the video for “Reach for my Brain”:

Heaven on the Faultline is available now digitally through Bandcamp, iTunes, and Amazon MP3.
