Bass of the Week: RG Custom Basses 5-String
This week we’re checking out a slick five-string from RG Custom Basses out of Nashville, Tennessee. Built with neck-through construction, the instrument has a three-piece neck of purpleheart and ovangkol with a tulipwood body. RG fits it with a katalox fingerboard with 24 frets.
The bass is set up to be a slapper with a Brubaker Musicman humbucker matched to a Seymour Duncan three-band EQ with a push/pull “slap switch.” Other features include black hardware and abalone inlays.
