Bass of the Week: Nichols Guitar Co. Spruce Dylan
This week we’re checking out the Dylan model by Nichols Guitar Company out of Phoenix, Arizona. While the bass comes with several options, this particular version is a four-string with a 35-inch scale featuring a swamp ash body topped with Engelmann Spruce and Rosewood laminates.
Its ash neck also has rosewood and purpleheart accents, while the two-tone Camatillo fingerboard is fitted with offset dot inlays. Nichols also put Luminlay side dots in the neck for better visibility on dark stages.
The bass is loaded with a pair of Aguilar DCB pickups matched to a Darkglass preamp. Other features include Dunlop recessed strap locks, Hipshot hardware, and a satin lacquer finish.
