Charles Mingus Sextet: Live in Stockholm (1964)
On April 13th, 1964, Charles Mingus took the stage in Stockholm, Sweden with his Sextet. This incredible footage (which has been colorized) is from the rehearsal before the concert.
In this clip, the band performs “So Long Eric” (00:00), “Meditations” (03:50), and “So Long Eric (Second Version)” (22:33).
The lineup includes Eric Dolphy on alto sax and bass clarinet, Dannie Richmond on drums, Jaki Byard on piano, Clifford Jordan on tenor sax, and Johnny Coles on trumpet.
