Gilad Ephrat Plays Van Gogh: Vegetable Gardens

No Treble reader Gilad Ephrat sent us his latest video from his “Gilad Ephrat Plays Van Gogh” project.

In this one, Gilad and the band perform “Vegetable Gardens”.

“After having a wonderful experience in Van Gogh’s exhibition I bought a book of his paintings. In the following days I composed the music while the paintings are always beside me being part of the creation,” Gilad shared. “After the music and the arrangements were ready I recorded the wonderful musicians that I imagined playing this music. In this composition, you can recognize one of the groups that most influenced me during my musical career – the Pat Metheny Group. I want to dedicate this tune to one of my heroes Lyle Mays.”

Gilad is on double bass on this one, along with Ofer Peled on saxophone, Gili Radian Sade on viola, Hagar Maoz on violin, Asaf Kleinman on piano, Adam Tal on mandolin, Gilad Dobrecky on percussion, and Matan Ephrat on drums.

Gilad added, “The video clip was edited by my 12-year-old son, Meytar Ephrat.”
