Adi Meyerson Returns With “I Want To Sing My Heart Out In Praise of Life”

Adi Meyerson: I Want To Sing My Heart Out In Praise of LifeAdi Meyerson has released a new album called I Want To Sing My Heart Out In Praise of Life. The bassist/composer’s second album as a leader is a six-part suite inspired by the work of avant-garde artist Yayoi Kusama. The seed of the project began after she attended an art exhibit in 2017.

“I describe my experience with this project as a journey because a lot has happened in the time that I conceived of it and now,” says Meyerson, adding that the pandemic lockdown also contributed to the album. “The music and the message behind it took on a new form, and became a vehicle for me to further explore my identity and womanhood and face my own mental health struggles.”

Meyerson is joined by trumpeter Marquis Hill, flutist Anne Drummond, bass clarinetist Lucas Pino, keyboardist Sam Towse, drummer Kush Abadey, spoken word artist Eden Girma, and vocalists Sabeth Perez and Camille Thurman.
