Bass of the Week: RJ Customs Valupture

Richard Greenup of RJ Custom recently shared photos of one of his newest builds called the Valupture. The Australian luthier put a magnificent piece of poplar burl on full display for the top and headstock cap.
Other woods include kauri pine for the body, wenge for its core, Macassar ebony for the fretboard, and flame maple for its bolt-on neck. Its pickups are a pair of Aguilar DCBs matched to an OBP-3 preamp, complete with volume, blend, bass, mid, and treble knobs. The two mini-switches toggle active and passive modes as well as a mid-frequency shift. Finally, Greenup used a Hipshot A-style bridge and Ultralite tuners.
