Rhonda Smith: Won’t Come Back
The ever-talented Rhonda Smith has just dropped a video for her new song “Won’t Come Back,” which is sure to get you grooving into the weekend. The bass icon, who has performed with Prince and Jeff Beck, dishes out a slow jam about a lost love.
“Life, Love, and the fretless bass inspired me to write this song,” Smith explains. “It’s an emotional subject and an emotional instrument.”
Her smooth-as-silk fretless leads punctuate her sultry vocals, which glide over a sparse bass line and the drums of Lil’ John Roberts. Smith hasn’t announced a full album yet, but we’re hoping there’s more of where this came from!
