Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros, Featuring Don Was, Announce New Tour and Live Album
Bob Weir & Wolf Bros are gearing up for a big 2022. They’ve just announced a 13-city tour for the spring as well as a new album, Live in Colorado, to be released February 18.
The Grateful Dead guitarist is joined by drummer Jay Lane, keyboardist Jeff Chimenti, and bassist Don Was. The bass player, who is also president of Blue Note Records, is renowned for his playing in Was (Not Was) and producing everyone from Elton John to the Rolling Stones.
The band’s run of shows begins with a four-date residency at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. during which they’ll be joined by the National Symphony Orchestra. From there, they will head to the Midwest and back to the Mid-Atlantic before heading north to finish in Syracuse, New York on March 30th.
Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros: Live In Colorado will be the band’s first-ever vinyl collection of music. It features eight tracks from the Grateful Dead and Weir’s catalog. Get a sneak peek and hear Was on bass on “New Speedway Boogie”:
