Marco Bass Guitars Suffers Shop Fire

Bass builder Marco Cortes of Marco Bass Guitars has been creating amazing instruments for years, and now he needs our help. His shop was destroyed in a fire this week and a fundraiser has been started to help him rebuild. The news was shared by someone using Cortes’s personal Facebook page.

Marco Bass Guitars Fire

“My dear friends, as you’ve heard by now, our shop is gone. We had a massive fire yesterday, but we’re so grateful that Marco is okay. He only had a few bruises and inhaled a lot of smoke,” they wrote. “We can’t express enough how grateful we’re for our local fire department. They were amazing! It really touched us when, at certain point they made a line, passing down some of the basses bodies and necks, trying so save some of Marco’s masterpieces. Grateful by our church family who so promptly came to help us. We’re both overwhelmed with gratitude by all your warm wishes, kind words and prayers. You all really touched us and blessed our hearts so much! Thank you for all the financial support as well and your help as we rebuild and will try to get ready for NAMM. As I told Marco yesterday, the real ‘factory’ is alive and well, which is Marco! He is the genius behind Marco Bass Guitars and, as he said, he will make new and better basses for sure: BEAUTY from ASHES!! Again, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! We love you all and appreciate so much your support. Watch out for new basses coming out of this surreal tragedy!”

Fans and supporters can help by donating to the GoFundMe campaign started on behalf of Marco Bass Guitars. We’re wishing a speedy recovery and continued health to Marco Cortes!
